How to Join Eugene Yacht Club 

First, the applicant should get to know us a little. Maybe come out for a race or some other activity, or just hang out a little and meet some people.  

Second, the applicant (or the Primary Sponsor) needs to get an application and fill it out. He will need two sponsors to sign it.  

Third, send it to EYC, P.O. Box 2751, Eugene OR 97402. Include a check for the application fee (see the Application Fee Schedule) and the first year’s dues.  

Fourth, applicants’ names will be posted in the EYC Clubhouse and on the Members Only section of the EYC website. And the Application will be forwarded to the Membership Committee.  

Fifth, the Membership Committee will review the application.  

Sixth, staff will review the application.  

Seventh, the EYC Board of Trustees will vote on the application.  

Eighth, the applicant and family will go through an “Orientation” at EYC with the Membership Committee. These are usually the last Saturday of the month at 4:30. Note, this can be done before the Board vote. The applicant officially becomes a member at the latter of the Board vote and the Orientation.  

Ninth, there is a “Meet and Greet” right after the Orientation (5:50) and just before that month’s Potluck Dinner. This is an opportunity for the membership to meet some of the new members.  

Tenth, at the Membership Meeting after the Potluck, the Commodore will introduce the new members with glowing terms.  

This whole process should take less than six to eight weeks. It is hoped that the Primary Sponsor will help ramrod the process. If there are any questions, please call Club Manager Jack Chase at 747-7644.
