Sail School began in 1970, when member Dick Brust organized the EYC Sail School to teach the children of EYC members how to sail. Years later member Nan Culver added a ladies' sailing school to provide an activity for the mothers who accompanied their children to sail school. Several years ago EYC members elected to invite a small number of non-members to attend Sail School.

Today EYC hosts a weeklong residence camp for sailing students from ages 10-90 during the third week of June. More than 100 students attend and more than 40 teens and adults volunteer as instructors, cooks, organizers of evening entertainment and rescue boat operators.

Welcome to Sail School. Here’s How it All Works!

• Sail School registration is open to EYC Members* and a limited number of Guests*
  
• Registration includes class instruction, all meals, T-shirt, and other special prizes.
  
• All children and youth(18 & under) must identify their “supervising adult” on this form.
  
• We encourage students (and their supervising adult) to camp on the grounds, so bring necessary camping gear. (See www.eugeneyachtclub.org for a suggested packing list).

• There are plenty of tent sites and a limited number of RV spots available on the grounds.
  
• There are a limited number of non-student meal packages available (see below).
  
• Students are expected to help with KP duty and to follow all EYC club rules.
  
• Supervising adults are strongly encouraged to volunteer with KP and evening activities
  
• Cost for Sail School is $150 for Members and $300 for Guests.
  
• Please use one form for each student (multiple forms can be submitted with one check)
  
• Register early. The deadline for Member registration is May 15. After May 15 slots will be allotted to Guests on a 1 st come, 1 st serve basis.
