If you'd like something a little more stylish to remember this year's Memorial Day Regatta by, today's your last chance to order long-sleeve t-shirts, women's style and sized t-shirts, and quarter-zip sweatshirts.
Orders can be placed at Regatta Network. And while you're at it, you might want to register for the Memorial Day Regatta, too. The early registration discount of $30 expires on May 20!
Note: EYC Rescue Boats may differ from those pictured.
Rescue Boat Training is offered once each spring for racers, cruisers, and anyone interested in knowing how to use one of the club boats in case of an on-the-water emergency.
There will be four two-hour sessions led by Dave Brown, our resident safety expert. Part of the time will be in the classroom, part of the class will be on the water.
There is no cost, but registration is required. Register online here.
An Oregon Boaters Card is also necessary for anyone who wants to drive a boat. You can get a card by taking an online class through the Oregon State Marine Board.
Wet moorage holders, could you use a hand to launch your boat? EYC will have a members’ moorage launch day starting at 8:00 am til “done”. To make this work we need at least five members who’d be interested in getting and giving help with boat launching. If you’re interested, please email Mark Schroeder to reserve your place.
Keeping our club looking good and in good shape is a continual process. Please lend your hands and your energy to help check off the tasks on this month's To Do list.
This is the last work party before the first EYC Open House and the Memorial Day Regatta, so let's all pitch in to make the club look its best for all the guests who will be visiting.
A reminder to dry-moored boats and trailers: If the grass in your area needs to be mowed, you might want to do it before this work party. When work party mows your grass, there may be fees attached.
You're invited to come take a look at what we think is one of the best kept secrets in the valley: Eugene Yacht Club. It's a place where people who love to be on the water come to relax and play.
All interested skippers, crew, and members are encouraged to get Race Committee training by EYC's Richard Johnson. It's a great opportunity to review the rules and learn how to run a race.
Everyone is welcome. Sign up isn't required, but it is appreciated. It will give Rich has an idea of how many to expect. If you would like to sign up, you can do that here.
In honor of mothers everywhere, you're invited to cook up your mom's favorite dish for this month's EYC potluck.
Please bring a main dish and either a salad or dessert and your favorite beverages and table service. Dinner is at 6:30 pm. There will be a raffle drawing for those who bring a canned food donation for Food for Lane County.
Members are encouraged to bring guests who might enjoy seeing the EYC community in action.
A General Membership Meeting follows at 7:30 pm.
Please note: EYC will keep a Food for Lane County collection barrel in the clubhouse for the next several months. Your donations of canned and other non-perishable food are welcome anytime, and particularly at the monthly potluck.
