EYC Multihulls

The EYC Multihull fleet is an active and diverse group of Hobie, Prindle, Nacra, A-Cat, and trimaran sailors. Besides weekly Thursday night racing and club regattas, the Multihull fleet hosts its own Live on the Edge Regatta each summer which draws sailors from around the west to Fern Ridge Lake.

Interested in joining the EYC Multihullers? Just have a question? Contact Multihull Fleet Captain Roeland Kapsenberg. If you have never attended our regatta in the past, check out the past results, regatta reports and photos via the links below to get a flavor of what we offer. Count on a weekend of great sailing, camaraderie, camping and reconnecting with old friends or making new friendships. All on the beautiful and inviting grounds of Eugene Yacht Club.

Live On The Edge MultiHull Regatta & Race clinic

2024 ‘Live on the Edge’ Multihull Regatta Race Clinic & Regatta Report

The 2024 edition of the "Live on the Edge" Multihull Regatta will take place on June 8 & 9. Preceding the Regatta, June 6 & 7 there will be an optional Race Clinic to fine tune your racing skills, tactically, speed & trim, maneuvers.

The Race Clinic will be coached by Ken Marshack, an accomplished racer and National Champion in several multihull classes. It is a two-day course with "Chalk Talk" on tactics, boat handling and trim alternated with as much on-the-water drills as the weather allows on starts, straight line speed, trim, boat handling, to apply what you have learned.

The Regatta aims to have at least 3 races per day. We usually race an 'America's Cup course', with a reaching start with up- and downwind gates. It is a lot of fun and suits the multihull sailing characteristics. We attract sailors from all over the PNW and CA and get together in a friendly atmosphere where social interaction is as highly valued as the racing. Everyone shares their knowledge and assists anyone who needs it to make sure they get as much time on the water as they want. Check out our past Regatta Reports.

Camping at the EYC Club grounds is included with the registration. We have a few RV hookups and plenty of non-connected spaces for RVs and tents. If you also participate in EYC's Memorial Day Regatta, you can leave your boat at the EYC grounds free of charge between the two events.

Learn, Live, Enjoy!
