Port Captain Report April 2017

The moorage billing is in Jo’s hands, and I have placed the list of names and corresponding moorage spots on the Port Captain Board by the Yot Pot. These may not be as up-to-date because the website as people are changing, or moving, or adding new boat at a fast clip. I update the website as soon as I post them in my database which members can access on the EYC website under Member Moorage. This link will take you to the moorage login page. You will need your EYC username and EYC password (if you do not have contact me). Once logged in, you will open the Moorage Assignments page. Click on the 2017 Moorage Assignment. If you click on lname, a search box will open where you can enter your last name or a part there of. Press submit and it will show your moorage assignments for this year. You can also click on any of the headers and the search box will open for that header and you can enter the information that you wish to search for. Please check to be sure that you have what you requested.

The map at the Yot Pot has only the layout of slip numbers, though it does not include the Lido area. The print out to the left of the map has two different lists. One hasmember names and a list of their moorages. The other is a list of all moorage are currently assigned and the member who has that moorage.

Also if you talk to me about moorage at the club and I ask you to send me an email about that conversation, it will not happen as a permanent record until I receive that email. I do not have my computer and database with me, and the database need to be updated before it becomes a permanent record. Send me that email—I may not remember when someone else ask me for that same spot if you don't.

If you have moorage billing issue please contact me before Jo. She is only doing what I ask her to do. This is for moorage billing issues only. For service charges and other issue splease read and understand the billing process that are stated in the member handbook before contact Jo.

About your slips: work party folks just put the slips back any way we could as we had several people that did not understand the numbering system of the dock. Dock D is slated for replacement this coming winter is taking several hit this spring. It may not have all of the slips as we are doing repairs with the items we have on hand. So I may ask you to move to Dock E this year if your slip is one that we are unable to return to service.

The new system will be ODD numbers on the LEFT and EVEN numbers on the right for B, D, and E docks. The larger the number, the deeper the slip will be in the lake. Docks A and C will use the same system that they have now.

Docks A and B will lose one slip as I am changing the 1-2 slip to just 1 as you can only get one boat in those slips.

There is a lot to work that has to be done after the numbering of the slips. I will need to change the database to reflect the current moorage with the new slip numbers. We'll also need torenumber the slips on the EYC map that is posted by the Yot Pot. Please be patient as these updates are in process.

Looks like we are going to have a good water year!
